PVC use and material characteristics

PVC is a vinyl polymer material whose material is a non-crystalline material. PVC materials are often added with stabilizers, lubricants, auxiliary processing agents, colorants, impact agents and other additives in actual use. It has non-flammability, high strength, weather resistance and excellent geometric stability. PVC is highly resistant to oxidizing agents, reducing agents and strong acids. However, it can be corroded by concentrated oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid, and is also not suitable for contact with aromatic hydrocarbons or chlorinated hydrocarbons. PVC can be divided into hard PVC and soft PVC. Hard PVC accounts for about 2/3 of the market, and soft PVC accounts for 1/3. Soft PVC is generally used for the surface of floors, ceilings and leather, but because soft PVC contains softener (this is also the difference between soft PVC and hard PVC), it is easy to become brittle and difficult to store, so its scope of use has been limited. Hard PVC does not contain softener, so it has good flexibility, easy to form, is not brittle, non-toxic and non-polluting, and has a long storage time, so it has great development and application value. Therefore, it is also called decorative film and adhesive film. It is used in many industries such as building materials, packaging, medicine and so on. The building materials industry accounts for the largest proportion, at 60%, followed by the packaging industry, as well as several other small-scale applications.

Features: mechanical properties, excellent electrical properties, strong acid and alkali resistance, good chemical stability, but low softening point. Suitable for making thin plates, wire and cable insulation, seals, etc.

Molding characteristics:

1. Amorphous material, low moisture absorption, poor fluidity. In order to improve fluidity and prevent air bubbles, the plastic can be pre-dried. The mold casting system should be short and thick, the gate section should be large, and there must be no dead angle. The mold must be cooled and the surface should be chrome-plated;

2. Due to its corrosive and fluid characteristics, special equipment and molds are preferred. All products must be added with different types and amounts of additives as needed;

3. It is easily decomposed, and it is more easily decomposed by contact with steel and copper at 200 °C, and it escapes corrosion when decomposed. Irritant gas. The molding temperature range is small;

4. When using the screw injection machine nozzle, the hole diameter should be large to prevent dead angle stagnation. Good without inserts, if there are inserts should be preheated.

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a material that is flame retardant, has good chemical stability, and produces only low tensile internal forces. At the same time, its material properties include high strength, high stiffness and high hardness. The working temperature ranges from minus 15 degrees to 60 degrees, and it can be bonded and welded.

Main characteristics of PVC: strong corrosion resistance: the most suitable anti-corrosion equipment for the chemical industry. Easy to process: cutting, welding and bending are extremely easy. High strength, high rigidity and high hardness; good electrical insulation; good chemical stability; self-extinguishing; low water absorption; easy to bond, easy to paint. The price is low.
